FCCB Donates to Abramson Cancer Center Survivorship Program

07/02/2021

For more than twenty years, First Citizens Community Bank (FCCB) has been a consistent financial supporter of cancer research and treatment programs. Sadly, everyone knows someone whose life has been touched by cancer, including some members of the FCCB Team. But, with advances in research and treatment, today more people survive cancer than ever before. In honor of National Cancer Survivor Month (June), FCCB donated $2,500 to the Abramson Cancer Center’s Survivorship program.

The Bank’s mission to support cancer research and treatment began in 1999 when employees of the Bank created the annual Cancer Classic golf event. Since its inception, the event has raised over $300,000 for the American Cancer Society. This employee-run event is still supported with the same enthusiasm and generosity as when it started and is just one of many ways FCCB employees support their communities.

National Cancer Survivor Month brings attention to the ongoing challenges of cancer survivorship. The Abramson Cancer Center developed the first adult cancer survivorship program in the country in 2001. Today, it has evolved into the premiere survivorship program in the country.  For more information about the Abramson Cancer Center Survivorship Program, you can contact the clinical coordinator at (215) 615-3329.
